I had a papilloma removed 5 weeks ago. The lab report showed that they have not removed the entire papiloma and the hospital now recommends a total duct exision although the result showed no cancerous cells.
They also informed me that the risk of a total duct excision could be that my nipple doesn't get enough blood supply and might die. I am aware of the fact that I could not breast feed after a total duct excison, which is not a problem as I am 44 years old. Could you give me some more information about the risk of a total duct excison and the likelyhood of any complications. I am also a bit confused about the fact that I should have all of a sudden all the breast ducts removed.
