Treatment delayed for bone biopsy

Treatment delayed for bone biopsy

Routine mammo in Oct. led to dianosis of invasive lobular cancer on the 24 Nov.  29 Jan I had bi-lateral implant removal, lumpectomy and sent. node biopsy.  Tumor was Nuc. grad 1, just over 1cm and contained some LCIS which I was told is never treated and margins considered clean.  The ILC portion was about .8cm, HR/PR pos., Her2 Neg., Nodes Neg.  Oncologist deemed chemo non beneficial however he did offer it to me.

I signed up for trial B-34 so was sent in for bone scan & x-rays.  Hot spot found on cuboid bone and was sent for more x-rays.  Next step was cancellation of my 8 March radiation commencement followed my an MRI.  Just had a bone biopsy on the cuboid.  They tell me odds of being BC mets is close to zero.  If biopsy comes back neg radiation will probably start on 22 Mar.  Am I at an increased risk because of the all the delays that have occurred in my treatment program?  I'm getting concered that all of this is dragging on.  Any thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Dogsmom:  If the radiation therapy is part of the trial, then it is likely that there are time limits that need to be adhered to withing the context of the trial.  From the point of view of safety an 2-3 week delay should not prove risky.
