Ultrasound result

Hi around 3 months ago I found a lump in my breast under my nipple, I was sent for an ultrasound. During the ultrasound they could not find the lump but could feel it.
I just recieved the results from the ultrasound and was wondering if anyone could help me understand what it means.

Right breast at 12' oclock position 2cm from nipple, there is a 1x1x1cm hypoechoic lesion present, It shows marked lobulation, some posterior acoustic shandowing. Some peripheral vascularity is present. Some atypical features are present.  They also found two other lumps which suggested probable fibroadenoma.

The said I need a ultrasound guided core biopsy. But my doctor has decided to send me to a breast surgeon. I could not get an appointment for about a month.
So I am worried because this appointment is so far away and because he didnt organize the biopsy instead basicaly said that he will leave it in the surgeons hands because I also have the Fibroadenoma's.

can anyone explain what the ultrasound means and should I be worried about the lenght of time I have to wait to see the surgeon and not having the biopsy done.

I think the waiting is going to make me worry a lot.

Thanks

Hi, Thankyou for your reply!

The lump I originally found was in about the 8 o'clock position and he tried a few times to find it on the US but said he could not find it although he could feel it. Should I bring that up with the surgeon.

I was just wondering if someone could explain the atypical features present?

Thanks for your quick response

The Ultrasound is pretty much self explanatory ... they did find a suspicious lesion that requires some type of biopsy. Seeing a Breast Surgeon is an excellent recommendation and a 1 month wait isn't anything to be concerned about. They evidently DID find the lump during Ultrasound since it's described in detail in the report. You might call the Surgeon's office and tell them if they have a cancellation you would be willing to come in on short notice. I don't think it's necessary but you might be able to get in sooner.   Regards ....
