Understanding findings of ultrasound

I am a 29 year old woman, and I originally went to my OB/GYN because I have been continuing to lactate, although I weaned my son 9 months ago.  The milk is yellowish in color and was cultured and found to be normal.  In the meantime, my MD sent me for a breast ultrasound which shows "two solid lesions."  One is at 2 o'clock and very small, the other is at 12 0'clock and is 1.9x1.7 cm.  The report states the "lesions have benign characteristics and no flow is observed" within the lesions.  My OB/GYN and family doctor are sending me to a breast center to see a surgeon.  Is this a normal next step and how concerned should I be?  What is the likelihood that this could be something requiring treatment?
Thanks for any advice!

Dear dshoe, It is a normal next step to have areas of concern on a mammogram to be further evaluated by the appropriate specialist, who will be better able to determine what needs to be done regarding this - further evaluation and whether any treatment is needed.
