Understanding the pathology report

BIRAD a trucut biopsy results - no malignancy but Proliferative  epithelial lesion with focal Mild  atypia seen. What does this mean.

It means that some cells were found that were different than the cells you would expect to find in the tissue that was tested. Often, even though these are NOT cancer cells, it may be recommended that they be removed by some Surgical procedure. You need to discuss this with your Physician as he/she knows your complete medical history and how this finding may apply to your particular situation.  Regards .....
