Unilateral Spontaneous Discharge, Cyst

Good morning.
Sent for ultrasound to determine nature of small lump in breast and unilateral spontaneous clear discharge from same breast. Found that lump is only a cyst.  No ducts were found to be dilated.  Nothing unusual found in breast other than cyst (which is not painful).  What would next course of action be, if any?  Is it more appropriate to be a "watch and wait" case or is it necessary to investigation the spontaneous discharge further?
Thank you.

Dear OhNelly2:  Although most breast discharge is not from cancer, unilateral persistent spontaneous clear discharge usually requires investigation.  Depending on the nature of the discharge and your risk factors, there are a number of ways this could be investigated, including ductography, ductal lavage or ductogram.  A breast specialist or specialist breast cancer surgeon (located at most large academic medical centers) will be best equipped to help determine what additional investigation, if any, is needed.

Thanks for your response.  Thankfully my risk factors are very low. I am late 30's and no family history.  Only personal history is having had ductal ectasia on other side last year (diag. by ductogram).  Since the ultrasound for this occurrence did now show dilated ducts, would they still bother with a ductogram at this point (not one of my favorite tests I found it a bit uncomfortble to be honest)?

Thanks again.
