My mother has no. of other issues like chalestrol, blood presure and mother of all Diabetes, Now recently she has dicovered that she has develop a tumour like thing under her left arm beside the heart not as part of brest. Doctor says that it is not damgerous but she would have to remove it.

Since she is diabetic and over age about 55 is there any other reasonable solution than surgery.

I have 'all of the above' that your mother has. I am only 50, but I have had diabetes for 35 years. I had no problems with healing from 'major surgery' recently.
