Varying Armpit Lumps

Varying Armpit Lumps

About a month ago I started noticing discomfort in my left armpit at work any time I went to reach for something. A week or so later a bump developed and soon after it progressed into the size of a quarter and highly painful. It is on the lower right part of my armpit, so the one closest to my breast. Some time after that another one in the upper-middle section appeared. This one progressed even larger, inbetween the size of a ping-pong and golf ball. It was red and painful much like the first one, but then the first one shrunk down to pea-size and was only slightly discomfort at the touch. Today I scratched that spot and about 10 or so mL of yellow-white milky fluid oozed out slowly. I know they're probably just infections of some kind, but I wanted to know if I should go get them examined nonetheless. Also, why they seem entirely seperate in their symptoms from one another.

Thanks in advance,
Chelsea

Dear Chelsea:  Swelling, redness and pain in any area is often associated with inflammation or infection.  However, if you are concerned or these are not going away, you should see a physician.
