im sure it wouldnt stop u from getting health insurance, but normally u have to declare previous/present problems and it wont cover them. ie if u were to take out private health insurance now, then it wouldnt cover u on anything to do with ur breast problems. thats just what im guessing from previous experience, i may be wrong of course but thats how it normally works. ie if uv had mental health probs and then take out private insurance it wont cover anything to do with those mental health problems. they try to get out of anything.

I'm sure that having an abnormal mammogram, in itself, wouldn't affect insurance premiums because it's an diagnostic exam; not unlike having a set x-rays taken or a having a complete blood panel performed. Having an abnormality doesn't necessarily constitute having a disease. Now, if you were to be diagnosed... then seek insurance, that could impact coverage because; then, you would have a pre-existing medical condition.

Hi Wood,

Ok.. You have no issues with insurance right now as you've not been diagnosed with any disease.
Do you have a group health insurance right now? Do you have life insurance right now? If, and that's a BIG IF you get a diagnosis of cancer, which I'm hoping you don't, you will always want to keep your health insurance. Example: halfway through my cancer treatments my company went out of business. I had to purchase COBRA insurance to stay covered so that I could not be refused by any new employer as having a pre-existing condition. My new employer offers group insurance and as I had no lapse in coverage, and I had to prove that to the insurance company, they had to honor my policy and cover all of my testing and procedures. If you are self employed or are covered under a private insurance policy, they can do pretty much whatever they want, even cancel your coverage, or so I was told by an Attorney who is also an Oncologist. Laws really need to be made to stop that from happening. As for life insurance, everyone should have some. Keep it paid for if you have it. If you get a diagnosis you won't be able to purchase any more life insurance. They cannot take your current policies away so make sure you make your payments on time.
Please keep in mind I am not an expert in insurance but I've had the same worries and lived through this already and this is what I learned along the way.
Try not to worry about it. Best of luck with your testing.
