WORRIED ABOUT CYST IN MY CHILD

WORRIED ABOUT CYST IN MY CHILD

MY TEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WHOM HAS JUST BEGAN HER PERIOD HAD CYSTS IN HER BREAST AND ALSO ABOVE HER EYE.  SHE HAD AN ULTRASOUND AND THE RADIOLOGIST SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.

SHE HARDLY HAS BREASTS AT ALL. HOW BIG WILL THEY GET?SHES ONLY TEN. DOES THIS MEAN THAT SHE HAS A LIFETIME OF CYSTS AHEAD OF HER AND WILL THIS CONTINUE TO GROW. THIS IS TERRIBLE

Hi,
If the ultrasound results stated that you daughter breast lumps are indeed Cysts, then you have nothing to worry about.Your daughter has Fibrocystic breasts which is a condition tied to hormonal levels in her body. It's not unheard of, that a 10 years old young girl could also have multiple cysts in her breasts. In fact, this condition is increasing in younger and younger women.
Young girls are beginning to menstruate at the age of 10 and even younger, whereas the age of menstruation began much later, many years ago.
Fibrocystic condition is not dangerous, but it does complicate breast self-examination since it is difficult to identify a new lump amongst existing ones. For this reason,it's important to have your daughter examined by her physician regularly to make sure that her breasts are healthy.
Many medical professionals believe that young girls are developing much earlier these days, due to growth hormones that are fed to livestock.
Diets high is fat and foods containing caffeine ( Coffee, chocolate, colas)  might have a role in contributing to the formation of painful lumps and should be limited to help minimize the cysts growth and also help shrink them.
Best wishes to both of you...

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR RESPONDING.
ALTHOUGH THE RADIOLOGIST SAID THAT HE SAW NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT MY CHILD PEDIA. REFERED ME TO A SURG. THIS MAKES ME NERVOUS.

I WAS TOLD THAT IF YOU REMOVE A CYST IT REOCCURES. DO YOU KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE. AND IF IT MAY WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF THIS?

Hi again,
Please don't worry, your daughter's condition is not dangerous. The fact that she has been referred to a surgeon is not that unusual. The doctor will decide whether the cysts need to be removed, aspirated or left as they are.
Unfortunately there isn't much one can do about fibrocystic breast condition, and yes cysts could recur sometimes, or they may not.
This is why it's important,as I mentioned in my previous comment, to avoid caffeine, (Coffee, chocolate and colas) salty food and fatty food to help control pain and even shrink the cysts.
Take care and best wishes to you both...
