Wearing a bra

Wearing a bra

It's been 1 month now since I had my mastecomy.  I am finding that it's uncomfortable to wear a sports bra with front lacing.  After several hours I am so done with wearing clothing I am ready to slip into my pj's.  (The sports bra  fits and it was given to me by my p.s. so I know it's proper._  Any guidelines from you ladies as to how long it takes to wear one comforably?  Maybe I am rushing things a bit?  Thanks

I think it's strictly an individual thing .... I doubt that any two women have the same experience when it comes to wearing any type of clothing touching the surgical area. Most of this depends upon the nerve damage that occured during surgery and this would differ with each individual. I would advise you to not go beyond the terribly uncomfortable stage right now .... I think you will find in time that things improve and also that there are some "feelings" that you will become accustomed to after a few months. Patience .....   Kindest regards.

I went without a bra for the most part. I wore a camisole instead. It kept the "twin" from bobbing around aimlessly and kept all pressure off the mastectomy site. After reconstruction I still don't wear a bra but do wear a camisole. Sometimes :)

My new motto in life is "let them be free"!!!

Thanks ladies..I guess I am rushing things a bit.   I never considered that it was because of nerve damage.  Okay now to the motto "let them go free" ...heheh
