What am I feeling on both sides?

Hi everyone.

I'm a 24 year old male and I have a question concerning male breast cancer.

On a random day back in 2011 when I was 21, I felt a sharp pinching pain on my right nipple. I ran to the mirror to see what it was. It almost felt like I was bit by something because it was so sudden and instant. There was a big red spot with a hard lump underneath it. It hurt to the touch. I ran to the internet to google what this could be and of course I saw breast cancer all over the place so I of occur we assumed that's what it was. I later found out it was an ingrown hair. I was relieved when it went away and put it behind me. But for whatever reason I started to feel around my chest and I felt "lumpiness" on both sides, on the outer sides. I spoke to a family friend who's a nurse and she suggest it was tissue I was feeling since it was in the same place on both sides. So I put it out of my mind as well.

Fast forward to now, 2013 and I'm 24, and once again I was just randomly feeling around the exact same area again, the outer part of both sides, and re-found those lumps. I tried to talk myself into thinking it was tissue like a friend suggested a few years earlier but for whatever reason I still wonder if there's a possibility I have male breast cancer...at a young age?! I turned to google again to research symptoms and everything I have read about, I'm not experiencing. I guess my main worry is that although I would have no problem running to a doctor to have it looked at, my insurance is a problem right now. And even if it wasn't my primary doesn't have appointments until early February. So I'm wondering if it seems like nothing and if it seems like I can put it off for a few more months.

Sorry for the crazy question. I realize there are women on here with real issues. But I need piece of mind. My family is going through a lot of other situations and I don't need to add this worry to the list. Thanks for any help and advice.

You are more than welcome!
Try not to stress too much by thinking that these multiple movable bilateral  lumps are an indication of BC..I am almost sure that this is not your case.
Happy Holidays to you too ! :)

Thank you so much for responding and giving me some piece of mind. I really appreciate it. I will definitely see a doctor though when I am able to get an appointment. I'm due for a physical anyway. I guess what got me scared was that I read an article about a man from the U.K. Who actually died from male breast cancer at age 27. The article said he was the first they knew of that this happened too at such a young age. So with all that said, I know that it's extremely rare, but part of me always wonders if I could be a rare case as well. I get so paranoid. But the article about that man said there was 1 lump in his chest. So I guess that was rare. Well either way thanks so much for your help. Happy Holidays!!

Hi.
Malignancy in the male breast is very rare, but it could happen, especially to much older men.
From what you describe, these movable lumps don't sound like breast cancer, especially because it's happening in both your breasts.
Sometimes when there is an increased body fat, hormonal imbalance can occur, when testosterone (male hormones) converts to the female hormone (Estrogen)
Hormonal  imbalance may cause these benign lumps, because of the increased estrogen level. Also abnormal fat accumulation.could be the culprit .
I don't think waiting 2 or three months to see your doctor is too long to wait. The odds are in your favor that this is most likely nothing to worry about,,but please do not rely on what I am just guessing regarding these lumps,or what you may learn searching over  the Internet. You need to consult a physician for evaluation,to make sure you obtain a correct diagnosis okay?.
I wish you all the best...

I forgot to mention that what I am feeling on both sides seems to be movable. I can grab them and move them around...
