Tamoxifen is one of the hormonal treatments used in breast cancer, either in the adjuvant or metastatic setting. This drug is given to both premenopausal and postmenopausal breast cancer patients who are hormone responsive. Serious side effects of Tamoxifen include development of uterine cancer and strokes. Other less serious side effects of Tamoxifen use include hot flashes, headaches, fatigue, nausea, and vomiting.

Just because the list of possible side effects exists, doesn't mean you will experience them. I take Tamoxifen and can't really find ANY side effects at all. I was not menopausal, but my periods have stopped (which for me is a GOOD thing, I'm 56!) but other than that, no problems at all. -kxa
