I recently had a mammogram and ultrasound where a cyst with some solidity inside of it was detected. What does this mean? I go to see the surgeon tomorrow, but I am terrified of what he is going to tell me. Can a cyst that is not just a simple cyst be "okay" or does it normally mean something ominous?
the majority of complex or complicated cysts (because of some solid components} turn out to be benign. Most breast cancer do not evolve from cysts or have a cystic component, however your surgeon might consider a biopsy to make certain if there is any reason for concern and treat it accordingly.Best wishes .
