What does this means?

I had  a mammogram on 12/31/13,after that I had a call from my doctor telling me that I needed a breast ultrasound, had that done on 1/14/2014,now I'm been sent to a surgeon but I was not told what he is going to do for me or why do I have to see a surgeon, the report from my ultrasound reads as follows:In the right breast there is a septated cyst measuring 0.4cm x 0.4cm,in the left breast at 1:00 oçlock there is a simple cyst 0.5cm x 0.5cm,at 3:00 oçlock a septated cyst 1.2cm x 0.8cm palpable.also at 3:00 oçlock there is a small solid hypoechoic nodule 0.3cm x 0.4cm is of indeterminate etiology.Further evaluation with surgical consultation is advised. What does that means?

Hi again,
I am sorry you experienced pain during the needle aspiration...but I am glad to know that the Surgeon determined that the solid nodule has no malignant characteristics.
The lump could be a Fibroadenoma (Benign tumor)that may or may not become larger.
I wish you all the best and thank you for letting us know.. :)

Hi,
Your Ultrasound results shows that you have "one small simple cyst" "two small complex cysts" and "one small solid nodule".
The simple cyst is a fluid filled sac and  has virtually no chance of containing malignancy. The 2 complex cysts fall within the broad spectrum of fibrocystic change and the vast majority are rarely associated with cancer.
The solid nodule,is a bit concerning though, because the radiologist cannot determine its true nature, therefore you will meet a Surgeon who will examine you and review your films and reports.He/she may recommend additional tests or a biopsy,to achieve a correct diagnosis..
Best wishes and I hope that all goes well for you...
