my husband recently went in for a cat scan on his neck. his doctor said he had a reactive lymph node, and recommended a visit to an E N T specialist. if, from what i have read on this site, a reactive lymph node is a normal lymph node, why does he need to see a specialist? and what exactly is a reactive lymph node?
I think you would be best served by posting your concerns on the Ear,Nose & Throat Forum regarding the necessity of seeing an ENT Physician. This forum as you know deals specifically with breast cnacer isssues. A reactive lymph node is one that is actively fighting an infection somewhere in the body and the referral is most appropriate in your husband's case. Regards ....
