Hi Vec,
I went with Taxotore/Cytoxen because I didn't want anything that is bad for the heart. I am triple neg and no node involvement. I only need 4 treatments of this. 1 down, 3 to go.
Take care,
Nancy
Hi Vec,
I'm not sure if you're talking in terms of surgical options or chemotherapy options. I found deciding the surgical part a bit frustrating because, unlike our preconceived notions of how it should work, my doctor WOULD NOT tell me what to do!! She laid out all my options, said they all had equal success rates and I had to choose. My advice would be to do your research as each treatment protocol is different based on age, stage, grade, genetic factors, etc... As far as the chemo options, they wouldn't really know all that information until after surgery so they've really had a chance to look at the tissue and REALLY see what they're dealing with and if any lymph nodes are involved. Hope this helps!
Treatment is usually tailored on an individual basis; taking into consideration all factors concerning a pt.s particular case. Options would be best recommended by your Oncologist.
