What type of Chemo will I need?

I was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer in May 09. Had mast/reconstruction in June.  Tumor is ER/PR + and HER/neu-, lymph nodes were all clear and it was 3cm. Don't know my Onco-type # yet.  What type of chemo will I need?

Dear Capemaygirl,  There are several chemotherapy regimens that may be considered for use as adjuvant therapy.  We can not make specific treatment recommendations for an individual in this forum. We can tell you that antiestrogen treatments are frequently given following surgery for ER-positive breast cancer to reduce the risk of recurrence in the form of metastatic disease. Chemotherapy will often add a modest additional benefit that needs to be weighed against the potential side effects. You should discuss the options with your oncologist, as they will have all of the information and be able to discuss the options in context of your individual situation.
