White Bump

by gem3850, Nov 03, 2009 07:11PM
I recently found a white bump on the tip of my nipple.  First I felt itching and noticed the bump.  I showed it to my internist and he recommended applying hot moist clothes for 10 and if there was no change to call him.  There is no discharge or scaliness, but I'm still worried.

The nipple and areola may have little bumps that are sebaceous glands or montgomery's glands. These bumps may secrete a whitish oily substance (somewhat like a pimple). These are normal.  In addition, the breast skin is like any other skin in the body and is subject to a variety of skin abnormalities, most of which are benign.  Nonetheless, if you are concerned, please see your doctor and have it evaluated The doctor will be able to make an assessment of its cause and suggestions for treatment if any is needed. Best wishes.
