Will Chemo be necessary for treatment

I have been diagnosed with Grade 1 Infiltrationg Ductal Carcinoma.  I have had the tumor removed with the surgical margins being free of tumor within 1 MM of the outside skin of my breast. I also had the sentinel lymph node biopsy with 4 nodes being removed.  The nodes showed no cancer.  The HER2/neu test is negative.  My surgeon feels that I will only need radiation and hormone therapy. Also the pain under my arm is awful.  How long will that pain remain?  Will the radiation aggravate the underarm pain.?

Dear granny1611, Pain after surgery usually will lessen the further you are away from surgery as your body heals.  It is difficult to evaluate pain over the internet without ability to ask questions, and in the context of physical examination etc.  If the pain is worsening, not being relieved with prescribed medications, be sure to bring it to the attention of your surgeon who can evaluate for signs of infection, swelling etc.
