Worried, I still don't have a full report

I had my mammogram about 3 weeks ago. The first report stated that they need last yrs images to compare it to so they got them. Then they stated that they needed my several films from the state I moved from last yr to see if the calcifications are stable? Shouldn't they be able to tell from just one yr to the next? I'm gettin' a little concerned now.

Then can tell and they should be doing and ultra sound by now. If there is any concerns on your behalf I have bad news my cancer did not show up on the mammogram I had to ask for the ultra sound and demand they do it or I would still be sittng here with three tumors. I caught them all very early no chemo no radation. cancer free. I am undergoning reconstuction right now. I lost both breast but was in stage one. too small to see on a mammo.

That's kind of what I was thinking. I had a cluster of calcifications on the right that were biopsied in 2009 and those were B-9. It just bothers me that they can't tell from one years to the others. I guess maybe ultra sounds of tiny little specks isn't feasible? If your cancer didn't show on your mammo what made you suspicious that you had it?   BTW I'm glad to hear your cancer free though.

Hi,
Just a clarification on how tests can differ in detecting breast abnormalities.
Mammography, for example, readily detects calcifications, whereas Ultrasound and MRI do not. Mammography,on the other hand, is not very reliable in detecting an abnormality when a woman has dense breasts, whereas MRI is a much better tool to do just that, but can sometimes give false-positive readings.
Please don't worry, radiologists need to check these calcifications by comparing several "images" and it's important because sometimes they can indicate an abnormality, when changes occur in their pattern. Most of the time, the findings are benign even when the calcifications appear clustered.(Grouped)
Best wishes..

Thanks for the info Zouzi. They had also found an abnormality on the right but the compressed view showed it to be fibroglandular parenchyma which I understand to be nothing to worry about at all. Maybe if I lose the 40 pounds I want too there won't be much left to worry about!
