Would nipple pain during the periods be a symptom of breast cancer?

From past 4 months, I am observing a sharp pain when I touch my right nipple during my periods.
I checked for lumps if any but found none.

Can anyone help me in understanding the reason behind this pain?

Hi,
I am really not familiar about your mammogram and Ultrasound reports.Even though,in my opinion,it doesn't sound bad,I think that you need to consult your doctor and discuss this findings with him/her.Did the radiologist recommend any further investigation about your tests results? What is your BIRADS score?
I wish I could have helped you more, but please call your doctor or radiologist for a detailed explanation.
Take care..

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

I have consulted my gynaecologist. She examined my breasts and told that they are ok. I asked her if I can undergo mammogram test.

Upon her suggestion i underwent the same and here is the impression

mammography:

small opacity in the subcutaneous plane of right breast in the farlateral and superior region--node in axillary tail region.

Ultrasound screening:
*Normal study of breast parenchyma
*Few small volume on specific axillary nodes.

I am not aware of this terminology and found not much usefull information in the net.

Please help me in understanding the exact issue.

Regards,
Surekha

Hi,
Most breast cancer is not painful. There are a variety of reasons that one could feel pain or discomfort in the breasts and nipples and the most common is often cycle related.  If you are concerned, you might consider having your doctor examine you, just to make sure that it's nothing more serious.Try to eliminate caffeine as this could help lessen the pain.Best wishes...
