I asked my brand new OB/GBY when he thought that I should get a base line mammogram done based on family history (this is before he did the exam). His answer? Right Now!
So I go and get the mammogram, then the next thing I know he wants an MRI "because of family history", and then I have to have an ultrasound, and now I have an appointment with a surgeon next Monday for a biopsy. I cannot feel a lump! I have checked about 20 times and I paid special attention to the area where the tech pointed the ultrasound. Given the high rate of false positives for young women and MRIs, odds are this is a total waste of my time, emotional energy, and a potential scar. A tiny itsy bitsy scar..but still...
well..
c'est la vie!
Maybe I got lucky. If it is breast cancer, and that's a big IF, then it should be so tiny that it means no worries!
I'll keep you updated.
