a positive note

I see so much stress here, I thought I would write something positive.
First, breast imaging and breast cancer treatment has advanced so much in the last few years that women can look forward to early detection and, in many cases, complete cures.
Second, if you look at all the statistics, breast biopsies in the US only show malignancy in about 20% of the biopsies. And because of digital imaging and such, many of those cases are DCIS instead of more advanced cancer.
Also, there are now many places on the internet that women can go to for support, such as this site and bcsupport.org.
And finally, my mother is a 29 year breast cancer survivor and a 25 year lymphoma survivor. We WILL survive.

And ladies, it is springtime. May all of you have a beautiful spring.

It is indeed a noble thought to come and reassure the others . Anxiety and the fear about the disease process sometimes dissuades many from moving ahead.

Your post would help motivate them so that a confirmed diagnosis can be reached and appropriate management started timely.

I had a terribly traumatic mammo/US/biopsy experience that left me with a post-traumatic-stress-like anxiety that would not go away. I've noticed it in other women too. Helping others with their anxiety has become a form of therapy for me.
