abnormal mammogram finding - Worried

Report from Radiology finding - Increased density in the right breast which appear more prominent since previous years, measuring approximately 1 cm in diameter which is persistent in 90 m- degree lateral.  roll cc and spot compression views no associated microcalcification or architectural distortion.  Ultrasound findings - no cystic or solid mass was identified in the region of mamographic abnormality.  Bi-rads 3, followup in six months.

Six months is a long times to wait.  Should I seek a breast specialist for second opinion.  Thank you.

This is essentially a negative report and the 6 month follow-up is perfectly reasonable since the only note was of an area of density that is less than 1/2 in. The fact that no masses, calcifications or distortion was found is a good thing. I would be more than comfortable with the 6 month re-test as this is only to ck. for any change in the size of the area of density. It is not abnormal for these dense areas to change over the years.  Relax ...
