abnormal mammogram

I had a benign breast tumor (which was also considered to be hypeplasia) removed last year.  I went for my mammogram and ultrasound last Friday and was told by the radiologists that she found calcifications and that I would need to get another mammogram and ultrasound in 6 months. Today I received a call from the office of the surgeon who removed the tumor last year.  They said the doctor wants me in asap to check me out.  I should mention my mom had breast cancer 5 years ago which she beat.  But is this something I should worry about or am I just being paranoid.  If someone has any insite to what I am dealing with, I would appreciate the help.  Thanks

I don't think that you should panic because you got a call from your Surgeon to check these calcifications.
Since the doctor removed a benign tumor in the past,that showed hyperplasia, and because of your family history of breast cancer,I would think that your surgeon wants to reevaluate these calcifications,just to be on the safe side .
Keep in mind that many breast calcification,even when suspicious,are found to be benign in nature.
If I were you I would  welcome to consult with my surgeon for more clarification or investigation if needed,rather than wait 6 months,not knowing about changes that might occur and worrying about it.
Please let us know what your Surgeon advises you about this matter.

I just turned 40 in October.  The thing that I am most nervous about is that last year with the tumor, I went from getting the biopsy one week to having surgery the next week.  The surgeon would not even let me wait until after the holidays.  She said it had to be taken out immediately.  Now this.  I was diagnosed with MS in 2005 and the stress of thinking what is going now with me is making my body go numb from head to toe.  Well I have the appointment next week.  Please let me know what is going on with you.  I hope everything goes well.
