abnormal ultrasound

3 WEEKS AGO  I WENT FOR ROUTINE MAMMO.  I CALLED A WEEK LATER AND WAS TOLD THAT I HAD TO GO BACK FOR MORE VIEWS.  ULTIMATELY HAD U/S WHICH SHOWED A HYPOECHOIC MASS WITH IRREGULAR MARGINS.  SAW BS WHO DID VACUUM BIOPSY.  ASKED BS WHAT SHE THOUGHT ABOUT MASS AND ALL SHE SAID IS "IT'S NOT A CYST" AND IT'S HARD TO TELL.  DO YOU THINK SHE IS BEING TIGHT LIPPED BECAUSE SHE REALLY DOESN'T KNOW EVEN THOUGH SHE'S BEEN DOING THIS FOR A THOUSAND YEARS, OR SHE KNOWS AND JUST DOESN'T WANT ME TO PANIC?

You are probably right. I am just comparing her response to a previous biopsy where said several times that she thought it was nothing (going to be benign).  That was very reassuring to me even though I still had some anxiety as anyone would and it was benign. It seems that her lack of feedback this time is making me extremely nervous!

There really isn't much that she can say until the biopsy results are in .... you can venture a guess but I don't know many Surgeons that would be willing to do that. From what you state in your post she said the only thing she knows for sure. Only a biopsy can determine the exact nature of any mass. It's the dreaded "waiting game" at the moment.   Regards .....
