adjuvent therapy

I had a cancerous breast tumor measuring 2.3 cm which was removed along with tissue.  Tumor was estrogen positive (high intensity) I also had a sentinel node biopsy which showed cancer in the sentinel node but not in the 3 others that were removed.  I've gotten 2 opinions; 1, that I should have chemotherapy and 2, that I should take tamoxofin or another adjuvent therapy.  Which way should I go? I've had uterine cancer and I am 65 years old.

I would go for the chemotherapy only because of the uterine cancer. Now that's me, you have to decide what's best for you. Good Luck with Life's journey, believe me, I know how tough it can get. Best Wishes, Kathy

I think that you should take chemotherapy followed by tamoxifen.  I am basing my opinion on the fact that your tumor was 2.3 cm and you had one positive node.  These are good indications that chemo is warrented.  The estrogen positive result makes tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors, which are both estrogen blockers, a good choice to follow up with after the chemo.  You need to talk over all your options with your oncologist, who has all your test results and knows your general health and life situation better than I.  If there is any way that we can support you, please post back and we will do all we can.  I am thinking of you.
