any answers?

I'm a 28 year old woman. I have been having discharge from my left breast for about two years now. I have told my Physician and she has done nothing but check my Prolactin level. I have had a lump under(beneath my nipple since I was around 15 years old)she said it was nothing to worry about. I have recently been having a large amount of discharge. It only comes out when I squeeze my breast or if any amount of pressure is applied. The discharge is clear and sometimes cloudy, no odor at all but it is sticky feeling. It sprays out of my nipple like when I breast fed my children if I would squeeze my breast. I just recently saw that it's starting to come out of the right breast but not very much. What should I do? I'm very concerned and I was wondering if I should get a different doctor. Is this something I should be concerned about? Do you have any suggestions?

I too have had a nipple discharge from one breast for about 5 years.  They have also checked the prolactin level periodically and tested the discharge for anything suspicious.  The kept telling me it was hormonal glactoria.  This past January, I had a ductogram to further evaluate the situation as the discharge was always there.  Once again everything came back ok.  In July I developed a non-lactating mastitus in that breast and had to follow up with an Ultrasound and Mamogram.  They did find a lump (unrelated to the infection), did an MRI, core needle biopsy & found that there was a benign scelersing papalloma lesion there.  I wonder if this has been the problem all along.  I just had the surgery this past Thursday to remove the lesion, since they can contain malignant cells & they also did a ductoscopy & ductal lavage.  I am hoping that this may be the end to the discharge.  Hopefully everything will be good news and I will know something later this week.

I know how annoying and frustrating this is. Also I've never met anyone who has this problem.  Lots of luck

Dear concernedami, Many women have some type of nipple discharge or fluid when their breasts are squeezed, and its normal. Squeezing the nipple sends message to the brain and the pituitary gland responds by increasing prolactin levels, which in turn produces discharge from the nipple.  The discharge can come in a variety of colors
