areola

by snoopypearls, Aug 13, 2008 10:55AM
I have what seems to be like a pimple on my areola. When i squeeze it, white discharge comes out (similar to a pimple.) But this reoccurs. Sometimes it turns into a scab but when the scab peels off more white discharge will come out when i squeeze it. this reoccurs every 1 or 2 days. I haven't done any research on it but i found this discussion talking about similar things. Should i see a doctor right away?

This discussion is related to Nipple pimple.

Hi.
There could be an infection in your nipple that caused that caused the on and off discharge coming from your nipple.  An abscess of the areolar gland can be a consideration.  The sebaceous glands of Montgomery may become inflamed, forming palpable abscesses in the periphery of the areola.  A malignancy should be ruled out.
You should see your doctor for evaluation and management.
Regards.
