NOTHING IS OUT OF LINE: please: GET THE TESTS THAT YOU WANT AND NEED ESPECIALLY WITH YOUR PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE THAT THE LAST PAINFUL EVENT WAS INDEED CANCER.
I was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (dcis) 4 1/2 yrs. ago. I had a lumpectomy. 1 year later 2 more lumps were removed, cancer free. I have had checkups every 6 months since then. The last 3 months, I have experienced extreme armpit pain. The last time I experienced pain on this side of my body, it was cancer. I cannot feel a lump, but the pain is very real. I recently read an article, that my Dr. performs sentinel lymph node biopsies. I have an appt. this coming Mon. July 9th.
Would I be out of line, to ask for a test such as this, so that
I will have piece of mind. I don't want to sound like I am a know-it-all. My husband is very concerned also. Please advise if you can. My sincerest thanks! Grandma Becky
Dear the: Pain in the armpit could occur in the presence of breast cancer, but it is not a common sign. In most cases, breast cancer is painless. If you are concerned, you should be examined by your doctor.
