atypical ductal hyperplasia and incidence of cancer

are ther different degrees of adh ? Can this be detected on the pathology report? If there are various degrees (stages) of adh -what is the incidence of cancer?

Dear uscadh:  The differentiation of ductal hyperplasia relates to whether it is usual ductal hyperplasia (not a risk factor for breast cancer) or atypical ductal hyperplasia (which is associated with a slightly higher incidence of breast cancer - about 1% higher).  Atypical ductal hyperplasia is determined through a biopsy and would be stated on a pathology report.  There are not degrees/levels or stages of ADH.  A woman's personal risk of breast cancer would be related to all risk factors (such as family history, age, and reproductive history) as well as the presence of ADH.
