beads inplanted instead of radiation therapy/

has anyone heard of the treatment where they implant tiny radioactive beads where the cancer was, this i guess is wide spread in  europe,in place of radiation therapy??

Yes I have heard about this new treatment.This is done also in Canada by a certain Dr Jean-Philippe Pignol ,radiation Oncologist at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.This was a pioneering trial involving six women so far, who had no side effect whatsoever even when the small radioactive beads remain in the body after the radiation was delivered.The hospital is planning to involve another 65 women awaiting for this new therapy.CBC aired this new treatment but I don't know exactly when.
