I had a breast biopsy a couple of weeks ago. They said that they got only healthy breast tissue and that it looked "too" healthy to be accurate. Now I have been referred to a surgeon to go over my mamogram (mammogram)/biopsy films.
It sounded like they want me to have a lumpectomy.
I dont understand why they just dont do another biopsy. I will ask more questions with the surgeon on Friday but am not sure what all to ask. They are going to have to convince me I need this lumpLumps in the breasts removed before I let them cutCuts and puncture wounds on me, I just had majorMajor tears Major-gesic surgery in July and more surgery, no matter how small, is what I want.
If they do another biopsy they may miss it again. When the biopsy needle is put it the breast it pushes the tissue away so it is hard sometimes to get a sample. A lumpectomy is not that bad from what I have read. What type of biopsy did you have? Was it a core needle biopsy? Those are better to get samples if you want another biopsy.
I appreciate any anwers or questions. I am making a list of things to ask on friday.
