bloody nipple

Hi im 24 and have a very sore nipple and blood/discharge coming out of it i have had two children and have had trouble with that nipple ever since i gave birth to my first but this is the first time i have had blood and it has been coming out now for the past two days what can it be?

A nipple discharge is significant and needs to be investigated further if it -
- is persistent,
- comes out without squeezing the breasts or any stimulation,
- is bloody or foul smelling or altered,
- is associated with a lump, nipple or skin changes etc.

Have you noticed any abnormal features on breast self examination like a breast lump, nipple discharge , skin changes etc?

Do you have any history of trauma or injury to the site?

You could consult your doctor for a clinical breast examination to clear out any doubts .
