44 years old black female recently diagnosed with invasive well differentiated ductal carcinoma with cribriform features ductual carcinoma instiu, cribriform type, low to intermediate nuclear grade with 2+her 2 and progesteron receptors 80% and estrogen 98%.  What does this mean, what kind of surgery is recommended and treatment plan, what stage do you think this is.

Well of course as you know from the results you posted that you have cancer and some additional surgery and treatment is necessary. The type of surgery will depend on the size of the tumor ... your Surgeon would be best to determine whether a lumpectomy would be appropriate or if a mastectomy be required. With lumpectomy, clean margins must be obtained; a certain amount of tissue around the tumor NOT containing cancer cells. Which ever type of surgery is done there would be a sample of lymph nodes taken to be tested for cancer cells also. After the surgery you would be referred to an Oncologist who will gather all the information concerning your particular case and formulate a treatment program. This could include Chemotherapy, Radiation, followed by Hormone Therapy to reduce the risk of recurrance of the cancer. All these may not be recommended; much depends on lymph node involvement and other factors in the Pathology studies of the tissue removed. The Stage may vary with surgery and isn't too important at this point.  Regards ....
