breast calcifications and pain

do breast calcifications hurt? i had a mammo, an ultra, and an mri and i am now going for a biopsy.  so far, it has been determined that there are calcifications in my right breast. i have seen and read a lot of the research on the matter, but very little on pain... my right breast hurts a great deal, more so since the mammo was done. could you shed some light and suggest any relieve. thank you

To my knowledge and based on my own personal experience (I also have calcifications in the right breast) those calcifications don't hurt. In fact, they're so small that they can't really be felt. And, as in my case, they can be so microscopic that they can be very difficult to detect in a mammogram. It's my guess that you're having the various  diagnostic imaging performed in an effort to render the best image of something that's too difficult or too tiny to see.
Anyway, I'm not sure why your breast hurts... but, I seriously doubt that it's because of the calcifications. Perhaps, you're sore due to the diagnostic testing that you've undergone. Sometimes, those mammogram plates that compress the breast can pinch and hurt.
