Calcifications appear normally within breast tissue scattered about .. it is when they are seen to be clustered or grouped in certain patterns that they are a cause for concern. If you mean by "being checked" in 3/08 and 9/08 that you had mammograms then it was to see if the calcifications remained stable in position and number. Your original BIRADS would have been a 3. The BIRADS scoring is used as a universal standard by Radiologists. If you were recommended to go back to the yearly mammogram it would be a BIRADS 2. Regards
