breast cancer, recurrence, what do I do now?

In 4/00 I had a lumpectomy (never got clean margins), nodes removed were clear, chemo and radiation followed.  7/02 cancer came back in the same spot, in scar tissue, macectomy performed, again nodes clear, margins clear.  Cancer is harmone -, what do I do now.  Oncologist recommends assuming that all cancer is gone and just wait and see if it ever conmes back and treat it when we know it is there (had bone & CT scans, they are clean).  Surgeon and radiologist recommend AC chemo.  They have made their recommendations and the next step is up to me, I am so confused.  Although leaning toward chemo, my thought is that if I do get it again down the road, I can truly feel that I did everything I could do to prevent.  If I get it again and I didn't do the chemo I will be angry that I din't do all that I could.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Dear lafulton:  In general, the oncologist is the best equipped to recommend chemotherapy.  The decision to do chemotherapy depends on several factors, including size of tumor, histology and grade of the tumor, your age and health, etc.  Most often, with a recurrence, chemotherapy is recommended.  You might want to seek a second opinion from another oncologist.
