So happy for you that all is fine!
Don't be afraid to do BSE each month one week after you start your menstruation, this is an important thing to do for all women.
Since you know how your breasts feel,(lumpiness) you will most probably know if any changes has occurred.A single lump feels different, and I am sure that you'll be able to detect the difference if it ever occurs.
Take care now,and God Bless.
I had my digital mammogram and ultrasound, all clear!!! Still seeing GP on friday to discuss results and hopefully a strategy for the future. right now I am afraid to do anymore BSEs with all my natural lumpiness.
I hope everyone gets my results!!!
I am sorry to hear about all the troubles you went through..But as you said, taking one step at a time is the best thing to do.
I am glad though that you are taking all the necessary precautions by contacting your Doctors, just in case you would need some sort of surgical intervention.
For now, there is no need to be overly stressed about something we don't know how it's going to turn up...Your mammogram results could be just fine.
I am sure that whatever happens, your Cardiologist/Doctors will take very good care of you.
Again, I wish you all the best and good luck...
I just spoke to my GP and will be seeing her on friday. Then if I need surgery we will need to at least try to find a surgeon who could do surgery while I am on blood thinners. In 2006 I was taken off blood thinners for 2 weeks to have an endometrial ablation. It was a disaster. I was in pre-op when I had a heart attack. They had to care flight me to another hospital for an angioplasty and to remove a clot from my artery. My cardiologist will definitely have a say in any future surgeries. Luckily I am near Cincinnati and the hospitals my cardios use are top of the line. The hospitals also have good breast cancer centers and use a multidisciplanary approach to treating patients. I can't have any MRIs due to stents and an ICD either so that could complicate things even more. But I am trying to take it one day at a time and I will post when I find out more.
Hi,
First of all, I hope that your Mammogram scheduled for today, will turn up to be negative for malignancy.
However, if for any reason some kind of intervention is required, you would definitely have to consult with your cardiologist before seeking any kind of surgery.Traditional medications to control heart disease, usually include anticoagulants (as in your case) to prevent any clotting of the blood. Any patients seeking surgery cannot take anticoagulants for a minimum of 1 week prior to surgery due to possible bleeding problems.
It may be that you won't even need a biopsy, but I would advise you to discuss it first with your Cardiologist in case you need any type of surgical intervention.
Please let us know,if you wish, how things are proceeding..
Wishing you all the best...
