breast cancer-doubt

Hi,  i have done a mammogram, attached below is the report of the same. i have not done any biopsy yet.
Could I please have the experts review of how the mammogram results looks like, before proceeding onto the next stage? How fearful/bad is the situation?

mammogram report:

(cranio-caudal and medio-lateral oblique views of both breasts were taken)

note:no previous studies available  for comparison

the breast tissues are predominantly fat. scattered glandular densities noted.

a large irregular opacity of size 6*5cm with spiculated borders seen in central and upper outer quadrant of right breast. two irregular opacities seen in cranio-caudal view. no clustered microcalcifications visualised. multiple large rounded opacities seen in right axilla suggestive of lymph nodes.

scattered glandular density seen in left breast. clustered microcalcifications seen in central and upper inner quadrant of left breast. no definite mass identified. small rounded opacities seen in left axilla suggestive of lymph nodes.

sonography revealed three irregular hypoechoic lesions in right breast. 3.3*3.1 cm hypoechoic irregular lesion with micro lobulations in 9 o' clock position. a thick uneven echogenic halo noted surrounding the lesion. another hypoechoic lesion with irregular margins of size 1.7*1.6 cm noted in 6 o'clock position of right breast. An ill defined heterogenous lesion of size 3.5*2.5 cm seen in 11 o' clock position of right breast. high resistance flow noted within lesions.

multiple hypoechoic right axillary lymph nodes seen largest measuring 3.3*1.7 cm.

all lymph nodes appear rounded with loss of fatty hilum.

diffuse subcutaneous edema noted in right breast.

impression:

* a large irregular opacity with spiculated borders in central and upper outer quadrant of right breast. correlative sonography revealed multiple irregular hypoechoic lesions with micro lobulations, angulated margins and high resistance flow which is highly suspicious of malignancy. possibility of multifocal carcinoma. suggest fnac correlation.

* multiple hypoechoic rounded right axillary lymph nodes with loss of fatty hilum probably metastatic deposits.

* clustered microcalcifications seen in central and upper inner quadrant of left breast. no definite  mass identified. suggest close follow up.

final assessment category : acr-bi rads - 5

Thanks and regards,
neg

I am sorry to tell you this, but, unfortunatly, both the BI-RADS 5 classification and the written report reflect the radiologist's  impression that the findings are highly suspicious for being malignant (cancer), and that there may already be some metatastis (spread) to the lymph nodes.

Although there will not be a definitive answer until the recommended biopsy--fine needle aspiration--is done, you need to be prepared for bad news, since there is a probability, in the radiologist's opinion, that you will be diagnosed with breast cancer.

Please let us know if there is any way we can help, either with information or emotional support.

Best wishes...
