breast cancer-joint pain post treatment

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in May 2009.  I had a lumpectomy, followed by 8 sessions every 3 weeks of TCH Chemotherapy.  Followed by 25 sessions of Radiation.  My last session of chemo was in  july 2010.  Radiation ended in sept 2010. I have been  taking Tab Femara plus tab bone one and zomata (inj) from october-2010. Now  I started to have in left knee joint pain.   I have spoken to my doctor who advises, it could be post chemo/medication caused and may go away with a passage of time. Now i am going to undertake Bone Scan on advise of doctor. This Bone Scan was earlier done which was okeyed by doctor.. What do you suggest I do,.  Your advise?

I also believe it's the Femara.  I had similar issues with Tamoxifen and Aromasin.

I hope your bone scans once again turns out okay.

Femara is known to have the possible side effect of muscle, joint, or bone pain. However, it is very valuable in lowering the risk of a BC recurrence.

Bisphosphonates (such as Zometa) can also cause bone pain, although this is fairly rare.

I hope you will be able to find ways to cope with your pain (exercise and other non-medication approaches may help) or medicate your pain, so that you can continue to experience the protective benefics of an AI.

Best wishes,
