breast cancer recurrence?

breast cancer recurrence?

Diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer 02/02/07.  Surgery to remove tumor, lymph nodes negative, followed by 6 rounds of chemo, an additional surgery suggested by radiologist to remove additional tissue (also negative), then 25 rounds of radiation.  Both breast sugeries caused no pain whatsoever. Finished chemo 26/11/07.  Now, since 01/07/08,  am experiencing pain in the breast and underarm area where the surgeries were executed.  Pain is intermittent.  Should I be concerned about recurrence?  Many thanks!

Dear patty1998,   Intermittent pain after treatment for breast cancer (surgery, radiation therapy) is not uncommon, and could still be related to the treatment.  However, over the internet without being able to evaluate – ask questions, physical examination it is impossible to say for sure what is the cause of your increasing pain.  You may want to discuss this increasing pain with your doctors, so they can evaluate.
