breast cancer stage 2

i am 66 years old and diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. i underwent lumpectomy a month ago with tumor size 2.4 cm and 9 out of 18 lymph nodes positive for cancer on biopsy. i also had 80% ER and PR positive receptor on my biopsy with Her/neu negative . i had no distant metastatsis and Ultrasound MRI negative for any cancer cell deposits. i am recieving chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide,adriamycin and 5-flourouracil and had fewer sideeffect in my first cycle also i am going to have my 2nd round but i am afraid whether chemotherapy would affect me badly this time? and i am also omre intraested in effects of chemotherapy as i go along every cylcle as this would hellp me prapare also tel me the prognosis at my age and sucess of the treatment at my age .thaks alot

Hi,

Just wanted to offer you my support and well wishes.  I've been through the chemo therapy and one thing I know for sure is that each round is different and your reaction to it is unpredictable.  Here are my tricks for minimizing the negative effects of chemo:  Drink a ton of water, if you are nauseous - try gingersnaps.  I had a tupperware full of them next to my bed and would eat a few first thing in the morning.  It really helped.  I'm not a dr., so I can't really comment on your question about prognosis and success of treatment.  You should be able to get a pretty clear answer from your oncologist, though!  Keep asking until you feel you have the answers you need.  If anything is unclear, keep asking until it's clear.
