Hi.
I understand what you are going through.
Your mother has breast cancer stage 4 with metastasis to the lungs.
Treatment goal for stage 4 breast cancer is palliation of symptoms.
How is your mother now?
There are many available chemotherapy options for breast cancer.  Cisplatin and Paclitaxel (Taxol) is just one of them.  Chemotherapy has its side effects and no two patients are alike with regards to the side effects profile.
It would be best to discuss treatment options with your mother's oncologist.  Best supportive care or palliative care is also an option.
Good luck.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother's case ... may I suggest that you post your question on the board where answers come from the Doctors at The Cleveland Clinic. Their answers will mean much more to you.
