It mean exactly what it states ...... on film it appears that there is a small lesion, probably a cyst, found in your right breast. Cysts are fluid filled sacs that are often related to the level of hormones in the body. They may remain the same size or can increase and possibly decrease as the hormone levels vary. As a rule they are benign and therefore harmless and can be left alone if they aren't causing any discomfort. It is important that it be determined without question that this finding is indeed a cyst. You don't state how this lesion was found, by Mammogram or Ultrasound. If there is no further recommendation at the end of the Radiology report I would think that nothing more needs to be done. You should speak to your prescribing Physician though to be sure. On occasion a biopsy may be required to obtain a definite diagnosis. Please check with your Dr. for a detailed explanation of the report. Regards ....
