I would have it checked out ... it's possible that there could be a slight infection and it wouldn't need to be associated with the surgery. It could also be some formation of scar tissue .... paranoid or not if it is causing you pain then there has to be a reason and it's best that you know what that reason is. Scar tissue can cause pain and there can also be some pain associated with unavoidable nerve damage during any surgery. Check it out just to be safe .... take care.

Hi !

its been 1 month and 19 days after my breast excision.. last sunday i feel like my breast got swollen , but when you touch it its not.. it just my nipple is a little bigger than the other side.. i feel pain inside of it exactly in the area where they put a small cut.. i just ignore it since my doctor says it may hurt especially in cold weather but been two days the weather is norm. BUT the pain is not going away even i took ibuprofen after an hour it came back..

should i go to my doc again and check it out?
or it just im being paranoid because of the pain..

on my first excision i never feel this pain

You certainly should have any new finding diagnosed by some type of biopsy in the future but just because you have a biopsy, and there are several types, doesn't mean that you need to have the "whatever" removed as long as it is NOT malignant. I will add that after the age of 40 these benign breast tumors are most always removed; before then it is up to you but don't ever hesitate to have something biopsied. A breast MRI is a much more sensitive type of test that might be valuable in the future in the aid of a diagnosis before a biopsy is done. I hope you have a GOOD Breast Specialist since it looks like you might be bothered by the Fibrocystic Breast Condition now and then. It's unfortunate but it does affect nearly one half of all women so you aren't alone.  Thanks for the update ... I'm always up late by the way.    Take care ....

its late.. anyway  its EXCISION not INCISION
clinical diagnosis: BREAST MASS, left(excision biopsy)

FINAL HISTOPATHOLOGIC DIAGNOSIS:

LEFT BREAST MASS,EXCISION BIOPSY :
1. FIBROADENOMA
2. FIBROCYSTIC CHANGES WITH SCLEROSING ADENOSIS AND APOCRINE METAPLASIA.

GROSS AND MICROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION:
The specimen labelled "breast mass, left " consist of two tan white roughly ovoid rubbery to firm tissue masses measuring 1.2x0.7x0.4 cm and 2.6x2x1 cm. serial sections show tan white solid and cyctic cut surfaces. representative sectaions are taken.
Microscopic examinations from the smaller fragment revel benign breast tissue composed of variably sized glands, some compresses into slit-like spaces ,lined by a bilayer of epithelial cells.these glands are seen in the bacground of myxoid stroma. no evidence of atypia or malignancy is noted.
Microscopic examinations from the  larger fragment  revel benign breast tissue composed of variably sized glands, some cystically dilated and lined by metaplastic apocrine cells seen in the bacground of  fribrotic stroma. some areas show small lobules with increased number of glands surrounded by sclerotic stroma. no evidence of atypia or malignancy is noted.

since its normal im so happy .. i ask my surgeon if it will come back do i need to undergo excision  AGAIN ??? and he answered me with "ITS UP TO YOU IF YOU WANT it to be removed, since mammogram sometimes fail to detect BC ..  but when my curiosity strikes about the  FIBROCYSTIC CHANGES WITH SCLEROSING ADENOSIS AND APOCRINE METAPLASIA  i read an article about this :

Fibroadenoma is a benign breast lesion but is not part of fibrocystic change. Fibroadenoma represents a focal hyperplasia of the stroma and the epithelial component of the TDLU and creates a distinctive round and well-circumscribed mass on physical exam or mammogram. The stromal hyperplasia often compresses and stretches the hyperplastic glands, creating the fibroadenoma's characteristic histologic pattern. With age, the stroma will become more sclerotic and may undergo dystrophic calcification, and the epithelial hyperplasia may decrease. When a fibroadenoma contains cysts, sclerosing adenosis, epithelial calcifications, or papillary apocrine changes, it is referred to as a complex fibroadenoma and there is a slightly increased risk in the development of breast cancer. //  and Apocrine metaplasia of the breast  Apocrine metaplasia of the breast is a benign breast condition and is sometimes considered part of or associated with fibrocystic change. It is a common finding in the female breast particularly after the age of 25 and many regard it as a normal component of the breast.

Apocrine metaplasia of the breast
-common findings

Prognosis

When there is hyperplasia seen along with metaplasia there is an increased risk of developing breast cancer.

its better to check every single changes on your breast .. better than sorry
because its very  possible to have it even we dont want it..

I'm pretty sure it isn't cancer .... especially at your age. Figroadenomas are benign breast tumors that often occur in young women; actually they are quite frequently found in women of almost any age who have what is called Fibrocystic Breast Condition. This means that a person has a tendency to develop either these benign tumors or simple cysts (fluid filled sacs) which are also benign. As a rule unless these tumors grow very large or cause considerable discomfort they are just left alone. Having one removed does not insure that another will not appear. There is some thought that the Fibroadenomas like the simple cysts are in some way related to hormone levels in the body. You can't say that the tumor that was removed will "come back" ... as I explained briefly above, another may well develop and sometimes very near to a previous one. You also may have more than one at the same time. They may also vary in size .... being larger at certain times and then become smaller at others. It is important to have any new finding investigated but at your age cancer would be so rare I'm not sure that close supervision with Ultrasounds wouldn't be enough for a few years. Cysts and Fibroadenomas are usually easily recognizable by the Radiologists on Ultrasound examination.   Regards ....
