Hi,
I just posted to you on another thread, please look for it.  I too am a Panic Sufferer and a Recovering Agoraphobic.  I understand how you feel as I have been there.  For me...I never let my breast exams go as I have a family history. It was not easy going but my husband was by my side and I got through these things.  Then I found a lump and had the choice....do I let panic stand in the way? I fought with all I had to get this taken care of.  I have Breast Cancer...but guess what...it has been a blessing...I fought my biggest fears and now I am out living my life inspite of my panic.  I am no longer housebound.
If I can be of any help to you, please contact me.  I can give you some tools to use to help you get out.

My dear, don't you have someone who will go with you? Surely you have a friend who will support you and help you conquer this fear .... I do understand but some things are too important to let the fear control. Not that the other occasions you mentioned are minor but when your health is concerned everything else has to take second place. I know you can do this .. just as I know that there is someone near you who can be your support and help you get thru this.  Please try hard ....  Kindest Regards.

I belive that is right about the Breast cancer not causing pain as mine sure was not painful... I am so glad to hear that you are scheduled to go for a mammo. My 1st one ever was a diagnostic one and then 4 days later a biopsey. it is hard to explain everything here but you can read my journal if you want it might help you. My lump came on really suddenly almost overnight I went within days of it being found it was never painful ...but i also had other health problems that really lead me to belive i had OVC.   When the lump with cancer in the axalery (sp) lymph nodes was found i was a total wreck... Things are better now...  take care

As Chris said, breast cancer is rarely associated with pain but please forgive me but I must say ..."shame on you" ... any change in the breast should be ck.d as soon as it is discovered by your Physician so that additional testing can be ordered. From your description I doubt that you have caused yourself any serious harm by waiting but PLEASE, PLEASE don't ever do this again, OK ?? Do let us know your results after your Ultrasound.   Regards .....

Hi,

I know you're scared.  We've all been scared when faced with a potentially serious health problem.  And it's normal to try to put it in the back of your mind and not deal with it.  One of the rules that I've heard is that breast cancer typically doesn't hurt.  I'm a patient, not a dr. so I don't know the truth of that, except my cancer didn't hurt, and I've spoken to many others that didn't have pain.  Here's the important thing, though.  You can't make it better or worse by waiting.  The only way to know for sure and feel some relief is to move ahead and have it checked out.  If it's nothing bad, then you can put your mind at ease.  If it is something bad, you can be glad you were brave enough to proceed and get it checked out.

Go get it checked out.  Either way, we'll be here to cheer for you when you find out it was nothing, or we'll provide many shoulders to lean on if it is cancer.

Let me know how you do.

Warmly,

Chris
