breast lump

im 30 years old and while having a shower a week ago i found a lump in the under part of my left breast and also a lump in the outer side of my right breast, i have also tried feeling while not in the shower and the lumps dont really  seem to be there but once in the shower and feeling again they are felt again time and time again. My mother has had breast cancer and had her left breast removed, do you think these lumps are normal or anything to worried about.

Hi niamhcelia.If you felt these lumps a week prior to your menstrual cycle it could be just a natural reaction that many women have during their menstrual cycle Checking again a week after the periods have ended,and finding that the lumps are still there, then I would advise you to have it checked by your doctor to put your mind at ease.Since your mom has had breast cancer I would also suggest to you to have a mammogram.My own daughter is 30 years old and since I also had BC,she asked her doctor to send her for a mammogram.What she said to me was"mom,it's better to be safe than sorry" and I couldn't agree with her more.Please go to your doctor to have it checked out,it could be nothing to worry about and also you will have peace of mind.Best wishes.
