breast lumps

Has anyone over the age of 50 ever developed fibrocystic lumps in only one breast.  I thought this was a young person disease. Does anyone know of older people getting cysts or fibronomas.

I am 47 years old, but had always been told that I had very cystic breasts. They told me it was partially do to all the caffine, coffee I drink. If you have any cyst or fibronoma, I hope that it has been confirmed and diagnosed as only such. Do you get regular, yearly, mammograms done? I had never felt a lump, cyst or otherwise, although durin self breast exams, my entire breasts always felt lumpy, but told it was normal and then had an abnormal mammo this year. Turned into a huge ordeal and a very long story. To make a long story short, early detection and ruling out cancer is the key. I had other fibroids removed, 1 in my arm and 1 in my neck, all benign, so I really thought the lump they found in my breast would simply be some sort of cyst or fibroid growth or fatty tumor. Not, it was cancer! I am not trying to scare you, but I just hope you or your docotr are taking this cyst seriuos.
